Elizabeth graduated from The Royal Veterinary College, London having previously obtained an Honours degree in Agriculture with basic Medical Science from Imperial College at Wye.

She joined GKG Vets shortly after graduating becoming a partner in 2005.

Elizabeth obtained her Certificate in Veterinary Business Management from the University of Liverpool in 2017. She enjoys all aspect of clinical practice but takes a special interest in cardiology (the treatment of heart disease) and soft tissue surgery.

Elizabeth lives in Newbury with her daughter, two cats and her cockerpoo.

She is the practice clinical coach.

From the age of four Courtney knew she wanted to be a vet. She was lucky enough to graduate from The Royal Veterinary College, London with a degree in Veterinary Medicine.
She moved to Newbury soon after graduating to join the team here at GKG vets.
Courtney enjoys all aspects of the job, especially performing surgery. Her calm demeanour and dedicated care have made her popular with clients.
Courtney lives with her partner in Newbury. She has a Yorkshire Terrier dog called Jake and a guinea pig called Charlie who both still live with her parents.

Stuart was brought up on a working mixed farm before going to Edinburgh University to study Veterinary Medicine where he graduated with distinction.

He worked for several years in North Hertfordshire, before becoming Head Vet at a practice in Goring-on-Thames. He moved to GKG Vets in 2013, becoming a partner with Elizabeth in 2016.

Stuart enjoys the challenges of general practice, but takes a particular interest in diagnostic imaging and internal medicine. He also undertakes some of the practice’s orthopaedic work.

Stuart lives nearby with his partner – also a qualified Vet – and their two ginger cats and a miniature dachshund. In his spare time he enjoys travel, cricket and is involved with his local community as a district councillor.

Laura graduated from Nottingham University’s Veterinary School in 2011 as part of the first year through the new degree. Her first job was in a large veterinary practice in Derby. She has worked for GKG Vets since December 2014.

Laura enjoys all aspects of veterinary work, but takes a special interest in dentistry. She lives in Newbury with her husband, who has recently started studying for a veterinary nursing degree.

She has a cat of her own and has recently taken on two naughty kittens for company. She amuses herself in her free time with games of various types and Asian media.

Melissa joined the GKG Vets team in 2006. Since then she has trained to become a Registered Veterinary Nurse. She enjoys all aspects of the job, but particularly carrying out diabetic nursing clinics and minor surgical procedures.

Melissa knew from a young age that she wanted to use her love of animals as a career and thanks to GKG Vets was offered a pathway into nursing. She is now Head Nurse at the Newbury branch.

At home, Melissa has a very bouncy spaniel called Laka who has recently retired from agility training. She also has a mischievous black cat called Moose who she rescued from the practice when he was found in a very sorry state.

Liz joined GKG Vets nursing team in 1999. Initially she worked in Newbury but has now become the nurse in our Thatcham branch. She is a very experienced nurse who enjoys emergency nursing.

Liz lives locally with her husband and has two grown up children. At home she has three dogs, two cats (including one with three legs), two ponies, one rabbit and a ferret.

Liz is a fosterer for the local Dogs Trust branch, looking after dogs as they find their forever home. Her experience and patient approach means she can instill basic training and confidence into even the most worried of dogs.

Sharon joined the friendly reception team at GKG Vets in 2010, initially working at the Thatcham branch before being transferred to the Newbury branch. She can be found behind the desk or on the phone having a good chin-wag with our clients.

Sharon lived in Thatcham for over 20 years, but recently relocated to Wiltshire to enjoy the quiet, rural life. She has a husband and a grown-up daughter who is training to be a veterinary nurse.
She has three dogs, two cats and a pony.

Sharon is a dog agility trainer in her spare time and has reached Kennel Club Gold Award standard for obedience with her three Border Collie dogs. She attends many local dog shows and events as a representative of her local dog club, often demonstrating agility to large crowds.

Alex joined the GKG team in 2009 and enjoys working on Saturdays in the Kingsclere and Thatcham branches. She has always loved animals of all kinds and has a special interest in wildlife.

Alex lives in Kingsclere with her husband and son – and two terriers, two ginger cats and two rabbits. In her spare time she enjoys going for walks, gardening, reading and spending time with family and pets.

Julia joined the GKG Vets reception team in 2008; she works exclusively at the Newbury branch. Before coming to work with us, she spent many years working at a veterinary practice in Hertfordshire.

She lives with her husband in a local village, sharing her home with a black cat called Spot – who has no spots!

Julia has a passion for everything equine, having owned her own horse for many years. She is often seen at horse events locally, or even further afield.

Greta joined the Thatcham branch as the afternoon receptionist in 2016. Prior to this she had worked for many years in accounts.

Although Greta has lived for many years in Thatcham, she has also spent time living in Holland and Scotland. She lives with her husband, three dogs and two rabbits. She also has a horse.

Greta enjoys spending her spare time walked her dogs and travelling. She has even cycled through Costa Rica to raise money for charity.

Sandy joined us in 2004 and has worked tirelessly to convert us from a paper system to the fully computerised system we now have.

Recently she agreed to take on a lot of the day-to-day administration as well as book keeping.

Sandy lives in Thatcham with her husband, son, two dogs and two cats.
